This is a Makeover throwback from a couple of years ago. I had found the original dress at a local Goodwill store. Immediately I fell in love with the color and the fabric – it was so beautiful and unique! However, the style was outdated and the dress was two sizes too big.
I knew the first thing I had to do was to shorten it, so I measured and cut off a couple of inches and then hemmed the bottom. Next, I carefully “dismantled” the interesting bow on the collar. When I was doing this, I realized that I wanted it to be a slight off-the-shoulder dress and so I cut a larger neck hole and finished it off with a smaller hem.
Ta-da! When I finished, I paired it with a turquoise necklace from Francesca’s. Pretty cute for a thriftstore makeover!
